Natural Grey - fingering weight - Double Skein - Handspun CVM Romeldale Wool Yarn

$175.00

Brand: Rainwater Fibers

This is going to make someone very happy, indeed.

Sourced from the Pacific Northwest, this handspun yarn was made from scratch from the raw fleece of a Romeldale CVM sheep named Teardrop. The time put into this yarn is evident.

Each lock was individually selected, flicked and spun to create a beautiful, irreproducible yarn. Any garment made with this fiber would have a truly rustic, one of a kind feel. This yarn is steeped in character, with natural colors ranging from almost white to many shades of greys with tinges of browns.

This is a beautifully balanced and fantastically soft squishy fiber, light and airy, with a heavenly smell any true wool aficionado will appreciate.

Exceptionally warm. Perfect for both next to skin garments and outerwear. Because this fleece was hand processed and not commercially scoured and spun, some of the sheeps natural lanolin remains, which will result in a more water resistant fabric.

Weighing in at 196 grams and measuring (at least) 595 yards, this would be enough for multiple projects.

I would be willing to spin more like this, in smaller batches. contact me for details.
